UP: Teen girl strangles younger brother to death for objecting to her chatting with male friend
In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli district, a 15-year-old girl strangulated her 9-year-old brother with an earphone wire after he expressed objections to her chatting on the phone with a male friend.
The incident happened on Thursday and became known on Monday. The accused was sent to juvenile correction home on Tuesday.
As maintained by the cops, the girl used to pass many hours on her phone when the parents were not around. The brother had complained to their parents about the matter a few days ago and the parents had scolded her.
On Thursday, when the parents had gone out, the girl started talking to the friend over the phone.
“The boy spotted his sister talking over the phone and objected to it. It led to a scuffle between the two, following which he attacked the girl, but she strangled him using an earphone wire”, Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said.
Dalmau police station received information about a missing nine-year-old boy, following which they right away launched a search operation for the kid.
“Next day, a foul smell started emanating and the parents of the girl opened the storeroom of the house to find the body of their son. After this, the victim’s father lodged a named FIR against a neighbour who was also detained by the police,” Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said.
On further investigation, it was discovered that the neighbour in question was nowhere near the crime spot in the time of the crime. The cops then carried on to interrogate other members present on the day, including family.
The SP Shlok Kumar stated that, “Family members were examined as abrasions, cuts and wounds on the body of the boy proved that scuffle would have taken place between the deceased and that attacker.”
A medical and forensic team took test samples for examination from all those present on that day. Around 25 samples were taken. On further examination, it was found that only the elder sister had injury marks on her stomach, neck, and hands.
The 15-year-old girl was interrogated in the presence of her parents and the child welfare officer. She confessed to her crime and said the she did not want to murder her brother.
“She also said she didn’t want to kill her brother, but he used to complain to her parents against her when she would talk to a male friend,” said SP Shlok Kumar.
