Raksha Bandhan to be Celebrated on August 19, Auspicious Time for Tying Rakhi After 1:30 pm

Sikar: The festival of Raksha Bandhan, which celebrates the bond of love and affection between brothers and sisters, will be celebrated on August 19. The market is bustling with preparations, and people are busy buying rakhis, sweets, clothes, and gifts. Those who have brothers or sisters living far away have already started sending rakhis and gifts through post.

According to Pandit Dinesh Mishra, the Shraavana Upakarma will also be celebrated on August 19. As per the shastras, it is considered inauspicious to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and Holi during the Bhadra period. The Sarvarthsiddhi Yoga, which will prevail on the day, is considered auspicious for all kinds of good deeds. The Ravi Yoga, which is associated with the Sun God, will bring strength, health, and respect to individuals. The Shobhana Yoga is considered auspicious for all kinds of good deeds, while the Shravana Nakshatra is a symbol of knowledge, intelligence, and good fortune.

Special Conjunction of Planets

This Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated amidst a special conjunction of planets. The conjunction of Ravi, Shobhana, and Shravana Nakshatra will make the day extremely auspicious. 

Best Time for Tying Rakhi

According to Pandit Mishra, the Bhadra period will last from 3:05 am on August 18 to 1:29 pm on August 19. It is considered inauspicious to tie rakhi during the Bhadra period. The auspicious time for tying rakhi will be after 1:30 pm, during the Apaharan and Pradosh periods. The Char Kaal Choghadiya will pre
vail from 2:07 pm to 3:44 pm, and the Labh and Amrit Kaal Choghadiya will prevail from 3:44 pm to sunset.

Free Travel for Sisters

This Raksha Bandhan, sisters will not have to pay the fare in roadway buses to travel to their brothers' homes. The roadways department has announced that sisters will be given free travel facility in buses. Many sisters have already booked their seats in advance to avoid any inconvenience on the day of Raksha Bandhan.

Three-Day Holiday

This Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated amidst a three-day holiday. August 17 and 18 will be Saturday and Sunday, respectively, while August 19 will be a government holiday. This three-day holiday will provide an opportunity for brothers and sisters to spend quality time together.
