Odisha: 3 men arrested for consuming alcohol in COVID-19 isolation ward
As India is taking measures to prevent the outspread of the novel coronavirus there are some who are not following the rules. A shocking news was reported from Odisha’s Puri where 3 men were arrested for consuming liquor in the temporary COVID-19 isolation ward on Monday.
The incident took place on Sunday, where 3 men identified as Kalu Jena, Uttam Tarei and Dhira Paleiwere arrested for breaking the rules. As per reports, after the incident, the district administration suspended the local panchayat executive officer (PEO), Guru Soumyaranjan Behera for negligence.
As per TimesNow, the incident came to light from a video clip that was going viral among the local public. In the video, one can see the 3 men doing illegal and anti-social activities.
As per Vishal Singh, project director of district rural development agency told that after seeing the video they conducted a verification test which came out to be true. He added that a temporary medical centre was set up in Nuapada gram panchayat to lodge suspected coronavirus patients. Senior officials including MukeshKumar Jena, local gram rojgar sevak and Satyaban Palei, revenue supervisor have been directed to leave the operations of TMC.
