Madhya Pradesh: 6 of family including two children stabbed, hacked to death in Maneri village
Six member of a family, which included two kids, were stabbed and hacked to death in Madhya Pradesh’s Maneri village. As the killer tried to flee, villagers caught them and lynched one of the accused while the other one was shot by police.
The appalling incident took place in Manera village which comes under the jurisdiction of Bijadandi Police Station, which is about 100 km from the district headquarter.
According to police the six were murdered by Harish Soni and his younger brother Santosh Soni, who are mentally unstable and are known to carry around aces along with them, and chase cars, reported PTI.
The killers were also related to the family that they they killed,. Police have stated that the six people were killed using sharp edged weapons.
As maintained by the Police, the killers had to open fire when they went to arrest them as they tried to attack the police also. The accused were armed with an axe, sword and chilli powder. They attacked the police team that had gone to arrest them and because of that police opened fire, injuring one of the killers.
Villagers told police that the brothers had a habit of chasing vehicles with axes in their hands if the driver blows the horn while passing by their house or even if someone spoke on a mobile phone around them.
Responding to the incident, former MP CM Kamal Nath attacked the Madhya Pradesh government over the law and order situation in the state.
According to BJP’s Mandla district's media in-charge Sudhir Kasar, Rajendra Soni was an old BJP hand and close to union minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, who represents Mandla Lok Sabha seat in the state.
