Madarsa teacher, 3 others gangrape woman on pretext of giving her job

Four men, which includes a Madarsa teacher, allegedly gang-raped a 23-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Monday. According to reports, the unfortunate incident took place after one of the accused enticed the victim to his house under the pretext of giving her a job. All accused have been taken into police custody.

The accused have been identified as Sayed Yakub Ali Khan, aged 51, who operates an MP Online KIOSK, Mohammad Abrar Khan, aged 31, who worked at the KIOSK, Mohammad Rehman, aged 40, a Madarsa teacher, and Sharique Khan, aged 29, who is a student. The four are natives of Arif Nagar locality.

According to a report by Hindustan Times,“The woman comes from to a very poor background and her parents are physically challenged. She works as a maid but is also looking for other job. About 15 days before, her uncle gave Yakub Khan’s phone number saying he will help her in getting a job,”

Earlier on Monday, the woman got in touch with Yakub Khan for a job. Yakub Khan, who lives alone in his house in Bhopal’s Islam Nagar, called the woman for a meeting to give her a job at his MP online KIOSK. The woman went to Yakub Khan’s house. Shockingly, Yakub raped her after locking her up inside his house. After that, the woman was sexually assaulted by the other three accused, police said.

Following the horrifying incident, the accused allegedly tried to stop the woman from informing anyone about the episode by giving her money. Before letting her go, they even threatened her.

On Tuesday, the victim approached the Eintkhedi police in order to register a complaint against the accused. The accused were then taken into police custody. The accused have been charged under section 376D (gang-rape) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation). The victim was sent for counselling, while the accused were taken before the court.
