Thief leaves angry note after not finding enough cash to steal at magistrate's home

In a peculiar incident of crime brought to light from Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas district, a burglar who broke into the house of a magistrate, left behind an angry message for the officer after finding no 'valuables' at the residence.

According to reports, the burglar got upset after he failed to find money or other valuables from the magistrate's house. The officer has been identified as Trilochan Singh Gaur, who is posted as Khategaon Sub-Divisional Magistrate.

As per a report in Hindi daily Hindustan, the burglar's message read, "Why did you lock the house if you haven't had anything". The thief used the magistrate's diary and pen to write the note.

The note soon went viral on the internet. The magistrate in his police complaint alleged that the thief escaped with a gold ring, a silver ornament, and Rs 30,000 cash.

Kotwali Police SHO Umrao Singh stated a complaint has been registered and an investigation has been launched into the alleged theft.

The magistrate was a little while back transferred to Khategaon in Dewas. The theft happened at SDM's Civil Lines house which was still not vacated by the officer after his transfer. Police said the thief may have broken into the house after seeing it locked for sometime.

The incident of robbery became known after the officer went back to his house after two weeks. He right away called the cops after noticing the broken lock.

Reportedly, the house was ransacked by the thief and some valuables and money was missing.
