Kerala: Man strangles 19-year-old wife to death after she insists to visit parents
Amid coronavirus lockdown, another criminal case has been reported from Kerala where a 26-year-old man killed his wife over a petty issue.
According to the reports in media, the man murdered his wife after forcing her to drink alcohol. To give the shape to the crime scene to suicide, the 26-year-old man allegedly hung the 19-year-old woman’s body from a ceiling fan in the house, said timesnownews.com reports.
During the examination, the police came to know that it was murder not a suicide case. On Saturday, the accused has been arrested.
The deceased was identified as Ragendu, hailed from Vettinad village located near Vembayam and the accused has been identified as Adarsh, from Vamanapuram.
As per Pothencode police, the accused man murdered his teenage wife on Monday night at their rented room at Nannattukavu village in Nedumangad block.
However, they tied the nuptial knot after eloping in January this year. The quarrel began after the woman desired to visit her parents’ home. This topic has become the reason for the altercation between the newly wedded couple.
On Monday, their conversation turned into heated arguments over the same reason. The accused man forcefully made her consume an alcoholic drink by holding her neck and cheeks. After getting her in an inebriated condition, he strangulated her and hung her body from a ceiling fan in the house to pass it off a suicide.
To befool others, he even took her wife to a hospital for treatment. Police were informed about the matter and prima facie, they also found it a case of suicide.
But the autopsy report of the 19-year-old woman revealed that she had marks of injuries suggesting a struggle with somebody. On the basis of postmortem reports, the police arrested the man.
