Indian woman threatens to commit suicide, sends mail to PM Boris Johnson; know what happens next

A shocking incident was reported where a 43-year-old Delhi-based woman sent an email to UK's PM Boris Johnson wherein she threatened to kill herself if the cops didn't come to save her within 2 hours.

As soon as this mail was sent to UK PM at 11 pm, his office immediately forwarded it to Indian Embassy in London who then contacted MEA in India. MEA then immediately called Delhi Police Command Room and the PHQ, following which the details were shared.

In the mail, the woman wrote, "I am distressed… If somebody doesn’t come to help me, I will commit suicide in the next 2 hours." She also wrote her address and phone number, however, since the address was not complete in the team of police were on their toes for three hours.

The SHO of Aman Vihar police station went to Sector 21 Rohini with a team to find the lady. The DCP (Rohini) PM Mishra said, “I received a call and an email at 1 am. We were told to rescue the woman as soon as possible. The number mentioned in the mail was working but the woman didn’t take our calls. We sent teams to locate her through her number but time was an issue.

As the address wasn't complete in the email the team checked over 40 houses in the locality. The police even sent her texts, alerted residents and asked security guards to help and then they found a house where the owner was not opening the door. After knocking the doors for several times the lady shouted from inside "please go away" on hearing this the police immediately called Delhi Fire Services to break the gate and the main door.

After breaking the doors the team entered the house and found a woman standing in the hall. The whole house was at a mess and smelt of a cat litter. The police told that there were around 16 cats in the house and when they broke into her house the lady was shocked and started apologising.

Constable Anita who was also the part of the team told that the woman wasn't mentally stable and when she talked to her she started crying and said that her cats are her family. The woman constable tried to console her and when she asked about her husband and family the woman told that she is divorced and has lived alone for over 10 years. She worked as an MCD teacher however 2-3 years ago she left that job.

Police also called 2 psychologists and doctors to help the woman, helped clean the house and encouraged her to eat and take bath. The senior officer further added that in the morning she felt better and told that she mailed UK PM as she wanted help to repay her loans, house bills and rent.
