Gujarat: Couple plans rendezvous amid lockdown as they haven't met for a month; held
A shocking case was reported from Gujarat amid the coronavirus lockdown where lovers were arrested for violating the lockdown norms. The incident took place on Tuesday morning when the police arrested them from AES ground near the TV in Bodakdev, Ahmedabad.
As per reports, the couple was not able to meet each other due to the lockdown that was imposed on 22nd March. The man who is based in Jodhpur and woman who stays in Vastrapur decided to meet under a mango tree on the AES ground. However, their meeting came to an abrupt end when the police caught them.
Around 9:30 am while patrolling police noticed the car and saw a couple sitting and talking to each other. They approached the car and enquired the couple for stepping out of their houses amid the lockdown to which the couple said that they had come to give milk to the stray dogs. On hearing this police got suspicious and didn’t believe it as a valid reason.
The police immediately arrested the couple for violating the norms and took them to Vastrapur police station. On reaching the police station, the couple narrated the ordeal and said that they are going to get married and are in a relationship. This is the only reason they meet at a secluded spot as they haven’t seen each other for a month.
Currently, the couple has been released on bail and have been warned to not commit this crime again.
