Delhi horror: Married man kills girlfriend after she breaks up with him

In a shocking incident reported from the national capital, Delhi Police has taken a 29-year-old married man into their custody for killing his girlfriend after she broke up with him. The accused has been identified as Rohit Gupta, a resident of Sadar Bazar who works in a grocery shop.

The accused was in a relationship with the deceased woman and after their break-up, he became infuriated and decided to murder her. The accused has been evading arrest since the incident.

The matter surfaced on 28th October when police received information about the murder of a woman in Wazirpur’s JJ colony. Police reached the spot and found a woman with gunshot injuries. She was taken to the hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The deceased was identified as Salma, who used to work in a parlour in Karol Bagh.

Subsequently, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

CCTV cameras in and around the area were scanned to identify the suspect and raids were conducted at different locations and possible hideouts of the accused. After a detailed probe, the accused was arrested from Civil Lines.

In the time of interrogation, the accused revealed that he was in a relationship with the deceased and, after their break-up, he got frustrated and decided to murder her. After committing the crime, he was hiding in different hotels and kept on changing his locations to dodge his arrest by police. He had thrown the weapon of offence in a drain.

Furthermore, the accused revealed that a marital dispute was going on in his life.
