Delhi: 37-year-old man allegedly kills wife, dumps her body in drain in Anand Parbat area

Irked over repeated fights with wife, a 37-year-old man allegedly murdered her, dumped the dead body in a drain and misled the police by saying that she was missing, said officials on Tuesday.

Sudhir, a resident of Delhi’s Anand Parbat area, approached the police on Saturday and informed that his 33-year-old wife had gone missing.

In the time of the investigation, police became suspicious of sudhir’s story of the incident after analysing the call records of the couple, said officials.

When Sudhir was interrogated, he broke down and admitted killing his wife following which the police took him into custody, they said.

Sudhir told that he had planned to kill his wife because they used to fight over ever petty issues. He took her to Nerala on the pretext of shopping and throttled her to death with the help of her chunni, said Sanjay Bhatia, DCP. He then dumped the body in a drain and ran away, the DCP said.

The dead body was recovered in a decomposed condition from Narela, the official said.
