Weather update: IMD issues heavy rainfall alert for Rajasthan, UP, Haryana; Check full forecast here
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its fresh weather report, on Wednesday, has forecasted heavy rainfall over many states in the country. As maintained by the weather agency in view of Low-Pressure Area lies over northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and East Rajasthan are likely to receive heavy rainfall in the coming few days.
"Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts now placed over northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards during next 2 days," the IMD said.
“Heavy rainfall spell over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and East Rajasthan in the next 2-3 days in association with the Low Pressure Area over northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring areas,” said IMD.
Heavy rainfall is forecasted over many parts of eastern and western India. Heavy rainfall is also forecasted over several parts of north and northwest India, which includes the national capital.
Furthermore, isolated very heavy rainfall is also possible over West Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. Heavy showers are also predicted over northeastern states, which includes Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram over the coming few days.
