MS Dhoni was back for Chennai Super Kings again after suffering from illness. Dhoni made a fantastic comeback and entertained his fans at Chepauk with his all-round performance as it was CSK’s last home game. MS Dhoni was part of three dismissals in the second innings and won the player of the match award for his 44 off 22.
MS Dhoni dismissed two crucial players in the 12th over of the match. Chris Morris the all-rounder was the first one to go when Ravindra Jadeja bowled and Dhoni removed the bails in no time. Delhi Capitals’ skipper Shreyas Iyer became his second victim in the same over, Dhoni was even quicker than the last time to dismiss Iyer.
Chennai Super Kings handed Delhi their most humiliating loss this season as they were defeated by 80 runs. Iyer won the toss for Delhi and opted to bowl first. Chennai put up a huge target on Chennai slow wicket with help of Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja.
CSK scored 179 runs and Delhi needed 180 runs to win. In reply, Delhi were bundled out for just 99 runs from 16.2 overs. Shreyas Iyer was the lone batsman who scored some runs as he hit 44 off 31. Shikhar Dhawan scored 19 off 13, which was second best for Delhi. Rest all other batsman were dismissed for a single digit score.
