Vivian Richards falls ill during pre-match show, gets carried off the field
West Indies legend Vivian Richards fell ill during the pre-analysis show of the India-West Indies Test match on Friday and was carried off the field.
"There is some disturbing news from Kingston. Viv Richards, who was doing the pre-game show, fell sick while live on air. He's gotten up though, and is leaving the field, held on both sides," ESPN Cricinfo reported.
In the second Test, the West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first. Team India did not make any changes in their playing XI while the Caribbean side made two changes.
West Indies brought in Rahkeem Cornwall and Jahmar Hamilton into the side replacing Miguel Cummins and Shai Hope. This Test match will be the second game for both the heavyweight in the World Test Championship.
The West Indies have already succumbed to 318 runs defeat through the hands of India in the first Test in Antigua.
Indian captain Virat Kohli added yet another record to his glittery career, becoming the most successful skipper in overseas Tests. Kohli surpassed former captain Sourav Ganguly to attain this milestone. This was Virat Kohli’s 12th overseas Test win. He acheived the feat in his 26th match as captain on foreign soil. Sourav Ganguly had 11 Test victories in 28 matches.
Virat Kohli is now head to head with India’s World Cup winning skipper MS Dhoni for having the most number of wins in Test. Both of them have 27 wins in red ball cricket.
