In the fourth ODI match against Australia in Mohali, team India missed many opportunities that led to their humiliating loss. Virat Kohli and his team were looking clumsy as they dropped too many catches and their experienced bowling line-up were not looking at par against a young Australian team.

In the 44th over, when Yuzvendra Chahal came in to ball, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was not looking good. He first missed a catch of Ashton Turner who later went on to win the match for Australia. He then tried MS Dhoni’s famous flick and missed to hit the stumps. Yuzvendra Chahal was not happy and so was Virat Kohli. Kohli looked furious after Pant missed the chance to dismiss Turner for the second time in an over.

 

Australia won the fourth ODI match against India by 4 wickets. With this win Australia have levelled the five-match ODI series by 2-2. This was Australia's highest run chase as they chased down 358 runs in 47.5 overs.

Earlier for India, Opener Shikhar Dhawan silenced his critics with an amazing century. Incidentally his 16th ton also became his highest ODI score as he hit 115-ball 143.Shikhar Dhawan was looking good from the start as his ton included 18 fours and three maximums. Opener Rohit Sharma too gave a good start to India as he produced a 193 run stand partnership with Dhawan before getting out at 95 off 92.

Virat Kohli got out for a single digit score after 31 ODIs as he was caught behind the stumps off Jhye Richardson’s ball. KL Rahul scored 31-ball 26 after he was called in place of Ambati Rayudu in the fourth ODI. Rishabh Pant scored a quick 36 off 24 balls be a mistimed a ball and was caught by Finch. Vijay Shankar scored 15-ball 26 before getting out off Cummins’ ball. Cummins was the highest wicket taker for Australia with his 5-70 in 10 overs.

In the second innings, Australian opener Aaron Finch once again couldn’t carry his form from the last match as he was bowled for a golden duck. Usman Khawaja was looking good for his second ODI century but was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah for 91. Peter Handscomb scored his first ODI century as he hit 105-ball 117 before being dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.

Ashton Turner finished it for Australia as he scored 43-ball 84 at a strike rate of over 200. Turner was dropped twice in an over of Bhuveneshwar Kumar by Kedar Jadhav and Shikhar Dhawan.

India and Australia will now play their fifth ODI in Delhi on March 13. The match will be a series decider and who so ever wins it will go into the World Cup with their head held high.
