Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are on the verge of breaking several record during India’s upcoming tour of the West Indies, which well commence on 3rd August with the T20Is.
Virat Kohli eyes MS Dhoni’s mark:
Virat Kohli has 26 Test victories as skipper from 46 Test games. While MS Dhoni has 27 Test wins, most by an Indian captain, from 60 Test. Which means Virat Kohli needs to make a clean sweep of the two match series to overtake MS Dhoni’s mark. Sourav Ganguly is third in the ranks with 21 Test wins in 46 matches.
Virat Kohli looks to reach 2000 ODI runs mark:
The Indian run machine has now made 1912 runs from 33 matches against the Windies, which includes seven centuries and ten fifties at an average of 70.81. which means Kohli needs to add another 88 runs in the series to be the first player to get 2000 ODI runs against the West Indies. Sachin Tendulkar is second on the list with 1573 runs in 39 matches at an average of 52.43.
Virat Kohli aims 1000 Test runs:
The Indian captain scored 686 Test runs against West Indies in 15 innings at an average of 45.73, which includes 2 centuries and 3 hals-centuries, which means Kohli needs to score 314 runs in four innings against the Windies to reach the 1000 run mark. Virat Kohli will be the 11th Indian player to achieve this benchmark.
Rohit Sharma aims to surpass Gayle:
Team India’s vice captain Rohit Sharma is just five sixes away from holding the record of most sixes in T20Is. At the moment, Chris Gayle leads the list with 105 maximums followed by New Zealand’s Martin Guptill who has 103 sixes. Rohit Sharma currently has 101 sixes in 94 T20Is.
