‘Virat Kohli might be the leading run scorer, but he is not a good captain’, says this World Cup winning Indian player
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is once again making headlines after he announced his retirement from all forms of the game. Gautam Gambhir was recently in news for criticising MS Dhoni for his selection policy in 2012 CB series played in Australia.
Now Gambhir in an interview to a News channel said that, “Virat Kohli might be the leading run scorer but he is not a good captain.” Gambhir explained his statement by giving some number that showed Virat’s poor captaincy skills. Earlier this year Indian team led by Virat Kohli lost a Test series in South Africa and later in England. Gambhir also said that India was always good at home, if India wins an away Test series that is an achievement to be proud of.
India is currently playing a Test series in Australia where the visitors won the first Test by 31 runs but was thrashed by the host in the second Test in Perth by 146 runs. The four match Test series is now leveled at 1-1. The Boxing Day Test will be played from December 26 in Melbourne Cricket Ground for which Mayank Agarwal and Hardik Pandya has been called in. Mayank will replace injured Prithvi Shaw, who twisted his ankle in a practice match against Cricket Australia XI.
