Virat Kohli equals MS Dhoni in becoming the most successful Indian skipper in Overseas Tests
After India registered 318 run victory over the Caribbean side in the first Test of two match series, captain Virat Kohli became the most successful Indian skipper in overseas Test.
The India run machine surpassed former skipper Sourav Ganguly to attain the milestone. This was Virat Kohli’s 12th Test win on foreign land. He shattered the record in his 26th game as captain. While, on the other hand, Sourav Ganguly had 11 Test wins from 28 matches.
Virat Kohli, is now head to head with MS Dhoni for having the most number of wins in red ball cricket. Both, Virat and Dhoni have 27 wins each in Test cricket.
On 4th day of the Test, the Men in Blue began their innings at 185 for 3 and they went on to amass 158 runs more to their total to take the score to 343 and obtained 418 runs lead.
Virat Kohli was sent back to the pavilion at 51, but Ajinkya Rahane went on to smash a century.
This hundred proved to be a precious one for Rahane as this was his first century in over two years. On the other hand, Hanuma Vihari failed to score a hundred as he was out for 93 runs.
West Indies batsmen were unsuccessful to last at the crease for long in the second innings. The entire Windies line up were bundled out in 27 overs. Jasprit Bumrah claimed five wickets to his name in the second innings.
Team India now leads the series by 1-0, India will face the Windies in the second Test, beginning 30th August.
