Superman David Warner takes an amazing flier to dismiss Joe Root: Video
Australian batsman David Warner took a brilliant catch to dismiss Joe Root in the second innings of the third Test. David Warner took an amazing flier off Nathan Lyon’s delivery to dismiss Root for 77 runs.
David Warner was standing at first slip and was airborne when he took the catch. Root came down the pitch to hit Lyon through the leg-side. Lyon’s delivery deflected off Root’s bat, looped over Australian skipper and wicket-keeper Tim Paine, with Warner diving a full-length to pluck the ball off air.
Australia is on verge of winning the match as they need just one wicket to finish the game. England, on the other hand, missed an opportunity on creating history as they are not looking good to chase down 66 runs despite Ben Stokes batting at 68 runs at the time of publishing this story.
England has never chased more than 350 runs in a Test match against Australia which was looking achievable when Joe Root was batting. But now it seems Australia is going to win the third match and regain the urn.
