Virat Kohli almost cried while talking about Arun Jaitley during stand naming ceremony; watch video

Indian skipper Virat Kohli probably got the greatest honour of his life. A pavilion at the newly named Arun Jaitley stadium was dedicated to the Indian skipper in a ceremony organised by the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA). The pavilion was named ‘Virat Kohli stand’ and the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium was renamed after Arun Jaitley.

The event was attended by many dignitaries including Home Minister Amit Shah, who was there to do the honours. Anushka Sharma, team India and former cricketers were also present at the ceremony. Virat Kohli delivered a speech after the stand naming ceremony where he accepted the honour and said it means a lot to him.

Virat Kohli also dedicated a part of his speech to former DDCA president Arun Jaitley, who died recently. Virat Kohli said, “I told Arun Jaitley ji's family that the world knew him differently but I have known him just as a human being. He came to my residence after my father's death and gave me courage and strength. It's a momentous occasion today.”

Virat Kohli and his boys will next be seen taking the field against South Africa at home. India and South Africa will play a bilateral series starting from September 15 in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The fixture will start from a three-match T20I series followed by a Test series. South Africa will be playing their first ICC World Test Championship series while India has already won a fixture against West Indies and is currently leading the points table.
