Sourav Ganguly eulogises Virat Kohli after his 27th Test hundred

The newly elected BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly feels catching sight of the pink ball is much easier than red ball. Visibility of the pink ball during the twilight period has been a topic of discussion ahead of the countries first ever day-night Test.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who knocked his 27th Test century on day 2 and dismissed for 136, withstood all through the twilight period on the first day without undergoing any complication, even though against a poor Bangladesh bowling attack.

Asked how Virat Kohli burnished the pink ball test, Ganguly stated: : "He is a run machine."

On the visibility, Ganguly stated: "It's actually easier than the red ball."

Cricket expert Harsha Bhogle also eulogised the Indian skipper. He wrote, "Another classy century. 27. In the same number of innings it took Tendulkar. Kohli idolises Tendulkar, he is, literally, following in his footsteps."

The BCCI president also expressed his appreciation to the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and promised to be present at T20 match between Asian all-star XI and World XI next year to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"I will go. I know you have gala plans for the event," he said.

Sourav Ganguly, who is the pioneer of day-night Test in India, stated that the success of the first day lay in the fact that 60,000 onlookers witnessed the event.

"So many watched the match that is most important. I was not under any tension but I was busy."

Bangladesh were bundled out for a paltry score of 106 in their first innings in a pitiful display of batting. Sourav Ganguly stated that they don’t possess any big time players. Bangladesh are without their regular captain Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal.

"They don't have 4-5 main players," he said.

The 47 year old remained equivocal on whether India will play a pink ball Test in Australia next year.
