After being dropped from the Test squad for Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Shikhar Dhawan is back in the nets to practice for the upcoming ODI series. The Indian opener posted a video from the practice session along with some inspirational message for his fans.
Gabbar took to his Twitter account and wrote, “Every time I step on the field, I strive to do better than the last one. Cricket is a game of skills and I will always work hard on improving myself. Bring it on!#ThursdayThoughts.”
Dhawan was part of the T20 team that was playing against Australia in November last year. Dhawan was awarded the Player of the series award for his contribution with bat. The series was leveled at 1-1 after a match was abandoned due to rain.
India won the four-match Test series against Australia by 2-1 and retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India also became the first Asian Team to win a Test series in Australia and won their first Test series against the Kangaroos in their 71-years of Test cricket history.
The three-match ODI series will start from January 12 in Sydney. MS Dhoni will replace Rishabh Pant as the wicket-keeper, while Mohammed Siraj will replace Jasprit Bumrah. Khaleel Ahmed too is included in the ODI squad along with Siddharth Kaul.
