Ranveer Singh starrer '83 goes on floors on June 5 when India will play their first World Cup match
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh was busy training for his next film in the cricket nets with former India captain Kapil Dev. The film is based on India’s first World Cup win led by the legendary Kapil Dev in 1983. Kabir Khan is directing the biopic and the shooting starts on June 5 this year.
Interestingly, India will also start their World Cup campaign against South Africa on the same day the shooting starts. The team will shoot at a local cricket ground in the Scottish port city followed by Dulwich college in London, Edinburgh cricket club, Nevill Ground at Tunbridge Wells in Kent and the Oval cricket ground.
Ranveer Singh will be playing the legendary Kapil Dev in the film, alongside Pankaj Tripathi who plays their manager Man Singh. Saqib Saleen, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk and Adinath Kothare are the other actors playing a part in the film. The director has also roped son of former West Indies fast bowler Malcolm Marshall.
The 2019 World Cup is starting from May 30 in England and Wales. The first match will be against host England and South Africa. After playing against South Africa on June 5, team India will play against Australia and New Zealand. India will play their arch-rival Pakistan on June 16 at Old Trafford, Manchester.
