Watch: Will Shane Watson play for CSK again? He has special message for fans
Australian cricketer Shane Watson who played a wonderful knock in the finals of Indian Premier League 2019 has a special message for his fans and supporters. Watson thanked everyone for the amazing support he received playing for Chennai Super Kings.
Watson shared a video message from his official Instagram account and captioned the post, “Next year we will come back stronger #whistlepodu @chennaiipl.” Watson promised to come back stronger next year and in a way hinted that he is ready to play the next season if retained by CSK.
Watson single-handedly took Chennai Super Kings’ run chase closer before getting run-out at 50 off 59 balls. Watson scored a brilliant century last year to help his team win the finals against Chennai Super Kings but this year he couldn’t finish the game for the yellow army. Watson injured his knee while playing and got six stitches after the match. He kept playing with the bloodied knee, which his team-mate Harbhajan Singh shared.
Chennai Super Kings lost the IPL 2019 finals against Mumbai Indians by just 1 run. Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians lifted their fourth IPL title to become the most successful team in the league’s history. Chennai Super Kings meanwhile made another unique record of losing the most number of times in IPL finals. CSK have played eight IPL finals and have managed to win only thrice.
MS Dhoni has played four times against Rohit Sharma and the latter has come out victorious all the time, thrice with Chennai Super Kings and once with Rising Pune Supergiants.
