Preity Zinta apologizes as her team KXIP fail to make it to the playoffs
The group stage of the IPL 11 is over and the playoffs are on the way. Four teams are in and as many are out of the race to the title. Kings XI Punjab had the hitting power of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle but they are on the sad side of the story. They lost the match they played yesterday against Chennai super kings and it was the last nail in the coffin.
However, Preity has apologized to the fans for not being able to perform up to the mark and losing to Chennai Super Kings in the race to the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings knocked Kings XI Punjab out of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League with a 5-wicket win at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune, yesterday. With the defeat, Punjab's campaign has ended up this season.
Reacting to the loss, Preity said in a tweet: "Who would have thought that after winning five out of six games in the beginning, Kings XI Punjab would have ended the IPL on this note."
"I am sorry to all our fans and supporters for not being up to the mark this season. Next year we won't let you down. Disappointed," she added.
The Kings XI Punjab led by the new skipper R Ashwin were able to register 6 wins in the 14 league games this season and their campaign met its end at 12 match points in total.
