Pakistani cricketer Ahmed Shehzad charged with ball tampering during Quaid-e-Azam Trophy

Pakistani Cricketer Ahmed Shehzad is not new to controversies, the opening batsman has once again found himself in trouble as he has been charged with ball tampering during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match between Central Punjab and Sindh.

"Central Punjab captain Ahmed Shehzad has been charged for changing the condition of the ball as per the non-identification process. Decision tomorrow," the brief media release by the PCB read.

The occurrence happened during the first innings of Sindh against Central Punjab on the second day at Iqbal Stadium. However, match umpire Nadeem Arshad has summoned the cricketer but the decision on the matter will only be announced on Friday.

This is not the first time that 27 year old cricketer has found himself in trouble. In 2018, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had awarded Ahmed Shehzad a four month ban for breaching PCB’s anti-doping rule.

On 10th July 2018, PCB provisionally suspended Ahmed Shehzad after he was tested positive with prohibited substance after a random dope test was carried out during domestic tournament.

No long ago, Shehzad was heavily trolled after he failed to register his spot in the playing XI in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Shehzad, who has featured in 13 Tests, 81 ODIs and 59 T20Is, is most likely to receive a fine of 50 percent of his match fee.
