Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir announces retirement from Test cricket

Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir announced his retirement from Test cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the news and said that the pacer has announced retirement with immediate effect.

Mohammad Amir made his Test debut in 2009 against Sri Lanka, he started his Test series with a bang as he took 6 wickets in the first match. He dismissed Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara in both the innings and dismissed Mahela Jayawardene in the second innings. He did not get any wickets in the next two matches.

Amir was found guilty in 2010 spot-fixing scandal that rocked Pakistan Cricket Board. Amir was handed a five-year ban only to return in 2015. Amir made his comeback to international cricket in a T20I match against New Zealand. He also participated in the first T20I edition of Asia Cup in 2016 and also took part in ICC World T20 2016.
