Watch: Yuvraj Singh's bizarre dismissal in GT20 league will shock you
Former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh who recently issued his retirement from international cricket and the IPL is leading the Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada.
The Toronto Nationals captain Yuvraj Singh had a dismaying debut game in the T20 league as he struggled with lower back pain before being sent back to the pavillion in a bizarre fashion. Vancouver Knights skipper Chris Gayle won the toss and put Toronto to bat.
New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum lost his wicket early in the game but Canadian opener Rodrigo Thomas put up a brilliant show scoring 41 runs.
Yuvraj Singh, who came to bat at number four, was evidently struggling to middle the ball, he went on to score just 14 runs of 27 deliveries. However, in the 17th over bowled by Rizwan Cheema, Yuvraj Singh nicked the ball but wicket keeper Tobias Visee failed to catch it.
Nevertheless, the ball bounced off the keeper’s gloves onto the wicket. Yuvraj’s back foot was within the crease when the bails came off but he walked off even before the umpire gave his decision.
Eventually, Toronto Nationals went on to post 159/5 in their stipulated 20 overs. Captain Chris Gayle failed to score big but Vancouver Knights still pulled off an eight wicket win with South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen scoring 65 of 43 deliveries.
