Pakistan coach Misbah-ul-Haq's savage response to reporter's tricky question
Pakistan’s newly appointed head coach Misbah-ul-Haq of late addressed a press conference before Pakistan’s first ODI match against Sri Lanka which is to be held in Karachi.
As per the report by India Today, a reporter questioned Misbah-ul-Haq about the slow batting approach of the Pakistan batsman
Question asked by the reporter was: "There has been more of tuk tuk than hard hitting. The cricketers have scored centuries off 235 balls or more. Even in your time, as a batsman even you approach was more of tuk tuk than hard hitting. So as the new head coach and batting coach will you allow these players to continue with the tuk tuk?"
Replying to the question, Misbah stated,"In my opinion, there is a lot of stress on tuk tuk in your question."
"I think you did not get the car today. Or maybe you were taught to come up with this question in order to anger the head coach."
Pakistan are slated to play against Sri Lanka in three match ODI series and as much T20Is at home. This will be the first time after Sri Lanka’s team bus was attacked by gunmen in 2009 that a overseas side will tour Pakistan.
Furthermore, ten of Sri Lanka’s topmost players decided not to travel to Pakistan citing security concerns including ODI skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Lasith Malinga.
However, Misbah also went on to state that Sri Lanka’s top players should have travelled to Pakistan for the ODI series after being guaranteed of top notch security by the government.
"Being a cricketer everyone's life is very precious," Misbah said on Wednesday. "We are also here, rest of the players are also here ... I think they should have had considered it when the government is giving assurances."
