'Pakistan can break jinx and register their maiden victory over India in 2019 World Cup,' says this former captain

Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan feels that the current Pakistan national cricket team led by Sarfaraz Ahmed can break its ICC Cricket World Cup jinx against India and register their first maiden victory over men in blue in the 2019 World Cup.

The rivalry between India and Pakistan is one of the most talked about and hotly contested in all sport and not just in cricket. Pakistan have never won a match against India in Cricket World Cup but come June, and we can expect this to be untrue.

Moin said, “This present team is very capable of recording a first win over India in a World Cup because there is talent, there is depth and variety.”

“I say this because our boys beat them (India) in the Champions Trophy two years back and I just feel that in English conditions in June we have better bowlers,” Moin added.

The wicket-keeper batsman also said, “This should be a very interesting World Cup and I am backing Pakistan to beat India. Our boys are in good spirits and it is good they will go into the competition after having played ODI matches against South Africa, Australia and England."

The 2019 edition of ICC Cricket World Cup will start from May 30, and the first match will be played between the host England and South Africa at Kennington Oval in London. India and Pakistan face-off will take place on June 16 at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Pakistan won their first and the only World Cup in 1992 as their rival India have won it twice, once in 1983 and the other in 2011.
