Dinesh Karthik, the hero of the final of Nidahas Trophy had his moments of the limelight when he steered India to an amazing victory. He has been appointed the captain to Kolkata Knight Riders and there is an immense confidence visible in the team and the fans of the franchise after Dinesh Karthik's 8 ball knock in which he scored 29 crucial runs.

Also, his six on the last ball came at a time when the team needed 5 runs on the last ball of the match and Dinesh Karthik did exactly the thing that the fans would have asked for on the last ball.

However, there is another interesting fact about the player that few players know and that is about her wife Dipika Pallikal who happens to be a professional squash player who will be representing India this Commonwealth games in Gold Coast. The cricketer-Squash combination will probably not get the attention that Virat-Anushka pair gets but the Dinesh-Pallikal pair is indeed one of the most admirable duos in the world of sports.

The IPL 2018 is closing and so are the Commonwealth Games. Thus came a picture from the couple where Dinesh went to bid adieu to his partner Dipika for her conquest of winning a medal for the country.

On Sunday, Dipika Pallikal boarded the flight for Gold Coast, on the Eastern part of Australia, being a part of the 200-plus strong Indian contingent to the commonwealth games, with the opening ceremony on Wednesday. Karthik wrote an emotional post on social media to express how much it means to him to support Pallikal as she chases glory for the country.

“These 4 years have been tough , she’s worked hard , lived out of a suit case for many months , looked after our home, supported me through everything and yet never once complained about anything. For me to be able to support her is she has a time of her life in Gold Coast. Good Luck. Make some memories and more importantly enjoy each moment. Good luck again to our whole Indian contingent and all the participants as well,” wrote Karthik.
