This young Pakistani player may be the next Virat Kohli of world cricket
Virat Kohli has established himself as one of the best batsmen, world cricket has ever produced. The world cricket fraternity recognizes the fact that the game has not seen a player as incredible as Virat. The captain has set new standards for the game and the team is following the suite as well. Virat, The run-machine that Virat is, has redefined hard-work and fitness. He is currently the captain of the Indian cricket team. The world wants Kohli and while the world wishes to have a batsman like Kohli in their team, our neighbour Pakistan may have already produced their version of Virat Kohli.
The young batsman, Babar Azam, from Pakistan is one such name in the cricket who is being compared with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
Notably, Kohli has been named the ICC batsman of the year for 2017. Kohli's technique has brought him the performance few batsmen can replicate. He is the only batsman who looks capable to break Sachin Tendulkar's record of hitting 100 centuries.
However, The 23-year-old batsman, Babar Azam from Pakistan is being dubbed as the next Virat Kohli of cricket and it is being said not for no reason. Babar has performed exceptionally well in the ongoing T20 series against West Indies. He has scored a century(114 runs) and a 97 runs knock in the two matches. Pakistan is now leading the 3 match series by 2-0.
There are talks of comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam but it may not be a very fair comparison to make as of now. Babar Azam and Virat Kohli are two very different kinds of players when it comes to their playing styles. Also, their comparison cannot be a fair one given the short span of Babar's career.
