In the statement given to the police, he burned himself after Virat Kohli's dismissal. According to the information, Babulal Bairwa, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, was watching the first test match between India and South Africa on Friday night. In the last moments of the game Kohli dismissed after scoring just five runs.
With Kohli being dismissed, Babulal got so hurt that he himself set on fire using kerosene. After hearing the scream, the wife and other relatives rushed towards him and controlled the fire.
After this he was to the district hospital for treatment. Doctors told that some part of Babulal including head, face and hands were scorched. His condition is being stabilized.
It is being told that Babulal had retired from Grade One mechanic from diesel shed in 2015 and is addicted to drinking. Station Road Police has registered the case and started investigations.
Kohli scored five runs in the first innings of the first Test against South Africa. In the last five years, this is the worst start for Kohli in the starting of the year. Prior to that, he has started three centuries and his minimum score was 91 runs.
