The skipper Virat Kohli led team India has defeated Australia in the first test match against them in Adelaide. Team India defeated Aussies in their home ground and this is really an impressive performance of the team in Australia. After winning the toss Virat Kohli decided to bat first, and in the first inning with the help of Cheteshwar Pujara's century, India made 250 runs.
To chase the score, Australia came to bat and made 235 runs in the first inning and they were totally 15 runs behind team India. Then India came to bat and after some of the brilliant knocks of Pujara, KL Rahul, and Rahane, team India set the target of 323 runs. To chase the score of 323 runs, Austraila got all out on runs and with this team, India won by 31 runs.
The interesting thing is that in the history of test cricket in Australia, India has never won their first test match against Australia. However, with this now team India has proved themselves the new record setter. 15 years back in the same month, Rahul Dravid helped team India to won the match against Aussies in Adelaide.
In the bowling performance of team India, in first innings, Bumrah and Ashwin took 3 wickets, while Shami and Ishant took 2 wickets respectively. In the second innings, Bumrah, R Ashwin and Shami took 3 wickets.
