ICC World Cup 2019: Pakistan can win the trophy this year and the reason will make you nod!

As the mega event of 50-over format is approaching near, all the teams have started to find the right combination of fifteen players they are going to field in the tournament. Pakistan is no exception, as they had a disgraceful Asia Cup last year they are forced to prepare its team for the World Cup as soon as possible.

Pakistan will be going in the tournament as the underdogs because nobody is expecting them to win the trophy. But the team has shown improvement before the World Cup as they gave a tough fight to South Africa in their backyard, although they lost the five-match ODI series by 3-2. Here are few reasons why team Pakistan can win the World Cup this year.

As the World Cup is taking place in England and Wales this year, team Pakistan has a good chance to win the trophy. Pakistan has a fantastic record in major tournaments that took place in English conditions. Pakistan have performed exceptionally well in England as they were runners-up in 1999 Cricket World Cup and winners of 2009 T20 World Cup. No Indian fan can ignore the fact that they defeated us in the finals of 2017 ICC Champions trophy.

Pakistan is known to produce the best bowlers in cricket’s history as they have produced the likes of Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar. Pakistan has a potent bowling attack for any condition and especially in England where overcast conditions can make the ball move initially. Alongside fiery pace attack, the team has competent spinners like Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim.

Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is considered MS Dhoni of Pakistan as the skipper has done so much hard work in re-building the team. Under his captaincy Pakistan has won major ICC titles including 2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup and 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and both the times they beat arch-rivals India in the final.

The 12th edition of the World Cup will start from May 30th and will end on July 14th. Unlike the previous tournaments, this time ICC will follow the round-robin format, which means each team will play each other at least one time before the top four teams qualify for the semi-finals. The first match of the tournament will take place between host England and South Africa.
