High voltage drama or a serious issue: Sri Lankan players struggle with pollution again, take field wearing masks
The three-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka has been full of high voltage and memorable moments. For example, Indian skipper Virat Kohli completed his 50th international century in style in the first Test match and also equaled the records of cricket great Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting by hitting sixth double century of his Test cricket.
In the first inning of the third Test match, the audience witnessed a high-class drama as the Sri Lanka players came out wearing anti-pollution masks. During the first inning (when India was batting) the game was stopped many times as the Sri Lankan players were feeling uneasy due to pollution.
Because of all the drama at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground of Delhi, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was forced to declare the Indian inning just at the score of 536-7.
In the second inning of the game, the drama continues as just five overs into the game Sri Lankan players were once again seen getting uncomfortable due to pollution. Even the members of the Sri Lanka team were seen wearing masks.
The Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal who scored an outstanding 164 runs while batting did not wear any pollution mask. But when he came for the fielding he was seen wearing a mask. The only Islander who did not seem to be uncomfortable with pollution was Sri Lanka wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella.
