Here's why Ab De Villers retired from the International cricket
Ab De Villiers is the player who can be counted among the most talented cricketers the world has seen in the last decade. The legendary player from South Africa has recently announced his retirement from the international cricket and took the world with a shock.
The former test captain of South Africa said he “ran out of gas” while announcing his farewell from the cricket on May 23. Not many expected this announcement, at least not before the World Cup 2019.
"I've had my turn and, to be honest, I'm tired," he said. "This is a tough decision. I've thought long and hard about it and I'd like to retire still playing decent cricket. It would not be right for me to pick and choose where, when and in what format I play for the Proteas. For me, in green and gold, it must be everything or nothing," De Villiers Concluded.
Ab De Villiers has been playing non-stop cricket since January this year and his recent months have been completely tiring for him. He made his test debut in 2004 against England and one year after that played his first ODI. The legend happens to have an average of over 50 runs in both test and ODI cricket.
There is also a great difference between the money in Club cricket and International cricket. Moreover, the South African cricket is not known best for their wages they pay to their players. It is said that Jonathan Trott made more money in 6 years' career playing for England than De Villiers made in his whole career spanning over 14 years.
He holds the record of hitting the fastest ODI century that came off just 31 balls playing against West Indies.
