Young sensation Shubman Gill hit a fantastic half-century at his home ground Mohali yesterday. Shubman’s father Lakhwinder Singh was present in the stands when he notched up his fourth Indian Premier League fifty.
Shubman Gill has scored two back to back fifties after donning up the opener’s cap and he remained unbeaten against Kings XI Punjab to take his team to the victory lines. Gill helped his team chase down the target of 184 runs.
Bollywood star and KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan took to his official Twitter account to wish his team for a fabulous win and dedicated the victory to Shubman’s father and his family. Shah Rukh wrote, “Well done @KKRiders & @DineshKarthik . All played like u should...by backing urselves. @lynny50 #SWarrier @RealShubmanGill good job. But tonite belongs to Papa! 3 cheers for proud papa & family.”
Shubman Gill became the first teenager in the history of Indian Premier League to score four half-centuries. Shubman has scored 287 runs in 13 games this season at an average of 35.87.
Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Kings XI Punjab by 7 wickets to take the number five spot on the points table. Kolkata has one more away game left before the play-offs against Mumbai Indians.
