Did you know Yuzvendra Chahal represented India in two different games?

Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is celebrating his 29th birthday today and wishes are pouring in from all over the world. Yuzvendra Chahal had an average World Cup 2019 as he did not perform up to the mark. Chahal was playing his first cricket World Cup but this was not the first time he represented India in a game.

Yuzvendra Chahal was a Chess champion as well. Chahal represented India in the World Youth Chess Championship. He is listed in the World Chess Federation’s official site. Chahal gave up the game at a later stage when he struggled to find a sponsor.

Chahal then picked up cricket and went on to play for Haryana in domestic cricket. Chahal was signed by the Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians in 2008. He played just one game for the franchise in three seasons. But Chahal played all the games for Mumbai Indians in the 2011 Champions League T20 and picked up 2 for 9 in three overs in the final of the tournament and helped his team defend a low score of 139 runs to beat his current franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Chahal has now been included in the Indian squad that will tour West Indies in early August. India will play a three-match T20I and ODI series against West Indies before playing the two-match Test series. The Test series will be part of the inaugural ICC Test Championship.
