Big update on MS Dhoni's retirement by India's chief selector MSK Prasad
The speculations over MS Dhoni’s retirement is doing rounds in India and the whole country is waiting for the news. It is the biggest retirement the country will see after former legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar retired in 2013. MS Dhoni’s retirement has turned into a national debate since the start of the recently concluded World Cup.
India’s chief selector MSK Prasad has settled the news for some time as he said that Dhoni knows when to retire. MSK Prasad talked about Dhoni’s retirement during the press conference where he announced the Indian squad for West Indies series. Dhoni has been rested from the series but Prasad cleared that he will not retire now.
“Retirement is purely individual. A legendary cricketer like MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni knows when to retire but what is the future course of action, what is the roadmap that we have to create is in the hands of the selection committee,” MSK Prasad said.
India will play a three-match T20I and ODI series against West Indies before playing a two-match Test series which will be the part of the inaugural ICC Test Championship.
Virat Kohli will lead the team in all three formats with few youngsters inducted in the team. Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Khaleel Ahmed, Rahul Chahar and Deepak Chahar will be given chance in the T20I and ODI series along with experienced Manish Pandey.
