Atal Bihari Vajpayee dies: Here's how sports fraternity including Virender Sehwag pays homage to former PM
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passes away at the age of 93 at AIIMS hospital in Delhi. Veteran BJP leader was admitted to the AIIMS of 11 June following kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection and low urine output. Mr Vajpayee was kept on life support since last two days in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Several people from the sports fraternity including former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag reacted on Vajpayee’s demise and expressed their sorrow on Prime Minister death.
Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore cited that- "#AtalBihariVajpayee ji - A leader par excellence, a daring PM who made Pokhran possible, a highly principled politician & a poet of inspirational grit who was admired across party lines".
The Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as the Indian Prime Minister on three occasions.
His first term came in 1996 which lasted for 13 days. Later Vajpayee was appointed as the PM for elevon months from 1998 to 1999.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee won the elections to serve a full five-year term as the prime minister between 1999 to 2004.
