OMG! Man suffers cardiac arrest while watching football game in stadium; know what happens next

A shocking incident took place during a Premier League game when a fan suffered a heart attack while watching a game. However, his life was saved by a heroic doctor and nurse who were also present in the stadium.

Dr. Tom Pritchard and his friend Matthew Anderson quickly rushed to save the life of the man who had suffered a cardiac arrest. During this incident, the match was halted by the referee as everyone was worried about the man.

The pair of doctors also received help from a nurse named Ruth McDonald, who was also one of the football fans. She was the one who performed CPR on the fan until the other medics arrived.

Several videos and photos have been shared by fans which showed a defibrillator being carried to the stands.

The staff members from St.John’s Ambulance team reached the spot and immediately took him to the hospital. Later, it was confirmed that the fan’s condition was stable.

A video has been surfaced on the Internet which showed the audience clapping and cheering for the doctors and the nurses who saved the life of the fan.

While talking to BBC, the pair of doctors said, “It's something you see at work fairly often but I haven't really seen this outside of a hospital before, there was an elderly gentleman lying on the seats in cardiac arrest. Luckily St John's were fairly quick, got the pads on quickly, took over CPR.”

On the other hand, the nurse who administered CPR, wrote on Facebook that she and another nurse were also watching the game when the man suffered a heart attack.

"I took over the CPR until 2 young St. John's ambulance people arrived with a defib. I continued doing the compressions and Tracy cut off the man's top so we could get the defib pads on and deliver the first shock," she said.
