Guinness World Records: Iran’s Afshin is crowned world's shortest man [WATCH]

Iran's Afshin Esmaeil Ghaderzadeh has become the world’s shortest man as of Tuesday. He clinched the title after measuring 7 centimetre shorter than the previous record holder.

20-year-old Ghaderzadeh is currently the shortest man in the world with a height of 65.24 centimetres (2 feet, 1.6 inches).

According to Guinness World Records, Ghaderzadeh was found in a rural area in the Iranian West Azerbaijan Province's Bukan County.

About Afshin Esmaeil Ghaderzadeh

Afshin is a muti-lingual and speaks Kurdish and Persian fluently. Ghaderzadeh's birthweight was 700 g (1.5 lb), and he currently weighs 6.5 kg (14.3 lb). His life hasn’t been simple in Northern Iran because of his stature. The 20-year-old was unable to attend school and has experienced literacy issues. However, the world’s shortest man learned to write his name.

According to Afshin’s father, he doesn’t have any mental problems and stopped going to school because of his continuing treatment and physical weakness. "Continuing treatment and my son's physical weakness are the main reasons why he stopped studying, otherwise he has no mental problems," he told Guinness World Records.
