Telangana: Woman kidnapped by mob from home rescued, 8 arrested so far

The 24-year-old woman, who was kidnapped from her residence by a mob of around 80-100 men, has been rescued, said Telangana Police on December 10. The cops also arrested eight people in this connection.

“Total of 8 people have been arrested and we also rescued the woman. A kidnapping case has been registered against the accused,” said Additional Commissioner, Rachakonda Commissionerate, Sudheer Babu, as quoted by ANI.

The woman was kidnapped from her residence in the Adibatla area in Ranga Reddy on December 9.

The woman's parents filed a complaint alleging that 100 men stormed their home and abducted their daughter Vaishali.

The mob also thrashed the woman’s father and vendalised her house. After getting the information, police reached the scene and registered a case.

"It is definitely a serious offence. We have registered cases under section 307 and other sections of IPC related to threatening. An investigation is underway," said Sudheer Babu.
