Coronavirus has engulfed the country and many people still not taking the COVID-19 guidelines seriously. After a video of a Delhi couple violating corona curfew guidelines and misbehaving with police went viral, another video of people outside liquor shops has surfaced on the Internet.

Soon after the Delhi government announced a week-long lockdown from Monday night to April 26 morning, people rushed to the shops of liquor in the national capital to stock up on alcohol.

Several visuals of long queues outside liquor shops in Delhi were surfaced on the Internet.

The hilarious video of an elderly woman claiming that not medicines, but alcohol will help her in the fight against COVID-19 if she contracts it, has gone viral.

While speaking to news agency ANI, the woman asserted that the COVID-19 vaccine will not help in countering the virus but alcohol will. In the clip, the woman was seen wearing a mask improperly.

“Hum lene aaye hain do botal. Isliye lene aaye hain, kyunki alcohol hai isme. Injection faayda nahi karegi. Alcohol faayda karegi. Jitne daaru peete hain, utne bande sahi rahenge. Jitne sab sharaabi hain. Toh, sharabiyon ko farq padhega. (I came here to buy two bottles. Injection will not help. Alcohol will. Those who drink will stay fit),” she told ANI.

She further added, “Yeh dawai se hume koi asar nahi hoga. Hume peg se asar hoga. Mereko 35 saal ho gaye peete huye, maine aaj tak koi bhi dose nahi li doosri (Medicine will not help me. A peg will. I have been drinking since 35 years and I haven’t taken any other dose).”

The elderly woman also said that liquor shops should be allowed to remain open during the lockdown in Delhi.

The video of the woman has been shared widely on social media. Netizens are slamming the woman for her irresponsible comment during this worst situation when people are losing their lives due to coronavirus.
