An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale has occurred in New Zealand’s New Plymouth. However, no destruction reports have come to light yet.
As per the reports of stuff, the quake was initially reported as 6.7M. It struck at a depth of 193km about 35km south-west of Taumarunui.
It is also reported that more than 9000 people felt the quake within 10 minutes of it striking at 3:14 pm.

Meanwhile, the Parliament has been suspended until further notice on the advice of Civil Defence. Also, the Civil Defence have also said that there is no tsunami threat to New Zealand.
