Video: Rajasthan businessman dies of heart attack while reading newspaper

Cases of sudden cardiac arrest, or SCA, have increased in India. The SCA can strike anyone at any age, including youth. There are several videos online of people collapsing while doing their everyday activities.

These unfortunate incidents have surely forced people to pay attention to their health and lifestyle.


In a similar shocking incident, a businessman in Barmer collapsed and died at a clinic while reading a newspaper. The incident took place on Saturday morning when Dilip Kumar Madani (61) reached a dentist’s clinic due to toothache.

In the CCTV footage, the 61-year-old businessman can be seen reaching the clinic and reading the newspaper while waiting for his turn. Suddenly Kumar felt uneasy, and within a fraction of a second, he collapsed.  The staff of the clinic took him to a hospital, but he couldn’t be saved.

Dilip Kumar Madani, who lived in Surat, had a clothing company. He came to Barmer on November 4 to attend a social programme. He complained of tooth pain on November 5 and visited the clinic for a check-up. But before he could meet the doctor, the businessman lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

"I won't be able to say anything without first speaking to Mr Madani's family. I was told that he sufered an heart attack and the staff took him to the hospital in a taxi," said clinc's owner Dr Kapil Jain.

Madani is survived by a daughter and two sons. The family belongs to Barmer’s Pachpadra and visits the village on several occasions.

Similarly, a gym trainer in Ghaziabad’s Shalimar Garden collapsed while sitting on a chair after suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest.
