Priests and devotees celebrated Holi at the prominent Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain during the 'Bhasma Aarti' on March 7.
Priest started the Holi celebrations in the holy city by putting Gulal on the Jyotirlinga amid ‘Har Har Mahadev’ chants by the devotees.
Soon after the rituals, the sanctum sanctorum of the Mahakal temple got drenched with colourful gulals with devotees and priest playing holi.

On the occasion, priest did a special Shringar (adorning) of Baba Mahakal with dry fruits and Bhang (Hemp).
Bhasma aarti (offering with ashes) is a famous and ancient ritual of the temple. It is performed during the Brahma Muhurta between 4 and 5:30 in the morning.

Mahakaleshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
