As the nation is celebrating Eid-Al-Adha or the 'Festival of Sacrifice' on Wednesday as Bakr-Eid, Uttar Pradesh government had warned people of not posting 'selfie with goats' on social media. The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has earlier banned the slaughtering of an animal in open in the state and now also prohibited selfies during animal sacrifice or else strict action will be taken against the one who won't obey.

In a video conference with district magistrates, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed police and administration to ensure sacrifice of animals on Bakr-Eid was not done in the open, and blood from the site shouldn't flow in the drains across the state. A strict action will be taken against those found flouting the rules.

Rabia Naik from Lucknow says she will follow the order. "Religion teaches us to be respectful of others faith and belief system. We will ensure that no community's sentiments are hurt with our celebrations."

The chief minister has also asked officials to maintain law and order and ensure electricity and water supply isn't disrupted in the state.

Meanwhile, people in Lucknow have chosen to celebrate the most awaited festival of “Feast of Sacrifice,” by cutting cake instead of goats. The cakes will consist of a photograph of a goat on it.

Lucknow people have now found to celebrate Eid-Al-Adha in an 'eco-friendly' way to mark the festival of sacrifice. In Lucknow, a bakery is selling cakes with pictures of goats printed on it which they will cut instead of sacrificing an animal.
