Weather Update: Delhi’s air quality improves; dense fog continues to cover Punjab, UP, Haryana

Delhi residents woke up to dense fog on Tuesday morning with cold wave likely to prevail in the city as well as in the adjoining areas for the next few days. As per India Meteorological Department minimum temperature records to 5.0 degree Celsius and maximum temperature 14.0-degree celsius.

Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana likely to witness dense to very dense fog in the morning hours and by next two days temperature might get more severe. "Isolated to scattered rainfall with isolated thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and hail likely over East and adjoining central India during 24th and 26th December," as per IMD.


 

Dense fog in isolated pockets over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Bihar, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Tripura while in Punjab it's moderate in isolated pockets. Today, the air quality was recorded 307 at 8 am with overall AQI remains in the very poor category. An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe', while the AQI above 500 falls in the 'severe plus' category.
